GENERAL REQUIREMENTS CABAS/CAB PLAN
The application is supported by the following operating systems:
- Windows 10 (Not RT)
- Windows 11
- Windows Server 2016
- Windows Server 2019
- Windwos Server 2022
Preinstalled software
- Microsoft .Net Framework 4.8 - Download External link, opens in new window.
- Microsoft Edge WebView2 runtime - Download External link, opens in new window. (Evergreen Standalone Installer)
Web applications are supported by the following browsers*
- Microsoft Edge

CABAS SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
PCs:
- Processor: Minimum 2 cores, 2GHz
- RAM: 2 GB installed RAM in computers for time stamping, 4 GB installed RAM in computers for booking/planning
- Hard disk: 150 MB available
CAB PLAN SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
PCs:
- Processor: Minimum 2 cores, 2GHz
- RAM: 2 GB instaPClled RAM in computers for time stamping, 4 GB installed RAM in computers for booking/planning
- Hard disk: 150 MB available
CAB PLAN SPECIFIC RECOMMENDATIONS
Preinstalled software:
- Microsoft .Net Framework 4.7.2 - Download External link, opens in new window.
PCs:
- Screen resolution:
Minimum 1280*800 for time stamping
Minimum 1440*900 for booking/planning*
*) Scaling should be set to 100% (laptops often have 125% by default). Higher scaling or lower resolution may be used, but may degrade the quality.
Communication
The client application is executed on the local PCs but retrieves and saves data in CAB's operating environment. This means that an internet connection is required in order to run the system. The broadband requirement is set at 10 Mbit/s (both upstream AND downstream) to achieve good response times. The system can be used at lower bandwidths. The response times for loading photos and 3D will be most affected by the available bandwidth.
Installation or update of CSP software uses Amazon CloudFront to provide good download performance and high accessibility. Push notifications to the client and accelerated photo downloading uses Microsoft Azure based functions.
The following network destinations are used by the application:
- Application communication (*.cabgroup.net, *.cab.se, port 443/HTTPS (TLS1.1/TLS1.2))
- Software installation/updating (*.cloudfront.net, port 443/HTTPS (TLS1.1/TLS1.2), fallback for the above)
- Push notifications for client (*.servicebus.windows.net, port 9354, fallback for port 443, own protocol)
- Accelerated photo downloading (*.blob.core.windows.net, port 443/HTTPS (TLS1.1/TLS1.2))
- 3D images (cabas.cab.se, port 80/HTTP, NTLMv2)
See Technical Network Specification* for a compilation of network destinations and "IP range" for application communication.
*) More detailed domain information is available upon request.
Security
Users are identified by a username and password. Password rules are in place to ensure the password is not too simple. CABAS does not use any proprietary authentication codes, but uses Active Directory to manage users. The user must state their user details at log in. There is a function to remember the most recently used user details. These details are encrypted and saved in the user's catalogue (Documents and settings). The traffic between the client and the server is encrypted with HTTPS (TLS1.1/TLS1.2) and the website uses certificates to ensure identity. All files downloaded from the CABAS website are signed with CAB's certificate for code signing. All HTTPS (TLS1.1/TLS1.2) certificates are issued by Thawte and code signing (as from CSP 5.3) uses Verisign as the issuer.
